Hi! For the first issue, you need to check the UV and see where it's placed.
For the second issue, there's not really much you can do but to resize that particular part and make it more fit in edit mode. Some bottoms are not meant to be used with certain tops.

I'm seeing that the original object is all divided into pieces. You can't join them all as they are. You need to import the texture you have now into blender, and pick each piece's UV and move them into place so ALL parts are in their correspondent texture spot.

Hi! After scaling it, select the whole mesh and from the UV sidebar, press flip direction. If you're still having issues, please share the blend file.

I've fixed the materials tab to display only one material and only one texture. The Object you're working with had more than 10 materials all linked to different parts of the same texture. In summary, that's not how EA's objects are so it's harder to have that and see how it'll look in the end. Even with the texture display issue, the object is still broken. The UV is all over the place so it'll look like that until it's fixed. Either the original object is broken OR something you're doing is messing up all the uv. Please, share the original object BEFORE importing it to blender. www.simfileshare.net/download/1075350/

Hi! this is usually because of weights. either the amount or intensity applied to certain bone don't match the original mesh. weights and uv_1 should be only applied to clothing, not body parts. delete the arms and re append EA's originals without modifications.

Hi! The blend file you shared looks exactly to how it looks in S4S. The image resolution of the texture is 3880 x 256, not sure what you mean by 72. I'm assuming the item you imported somehow got broken in the process upon import/ set up to S4S. I would start over, and import the original object again. Remember that the texture CAN'T be any random size, the resolutions MUST be power of 2. Example, 256 - 512 - 1024.

Hi! As the title suggests it, the tutorial is to turn full body outfit into top, not accessory. Tops must have body parts!, accessories don't. what you should do is clone a body accessory, such as bracelet. export it's mesh and append your item modifying the cut number accordingly. sims4studio.com/thread/10/tutorial-using-sims-studio-accessoryYou will have to head over the warehouse / region map / Edit items and change the element to "Base". This will make your item appear over everything regardless the sleeve's length. you'll also need to modify the uv and texture map of the accessory you avoid overlapping texture and move the front elsewhere. you'll notice once you put it on.

hi! please share the package and blend file so someone can take a look.
for starters, what you're trying to do can't be achieved by solely removing the shirt and importing back into the same top package. what you'll end up with is a transparent interior, no body mesh and floating jacket. what you need to do is clone a body accessory, for example a bracelet, and import your mesh accordingly with their respective cut number. you'll also need to move the uv elsewhere outside the body texture to avoid overlapping. there's several tutorials out there on how to achieve this "jacket accessory". is this what you're thinking of?

hi! it'd be easier to correctly reply this if you could add the files and a screenshot of the issue. I'm assuming you're incorrectly mapping your dress over the Sims' body, therefore it's overlapping and displaying "twice".
if this isn't it, phrase share what I asked above.

hi! please avoid bumping threads where their last reply doesn't exceed a day old.
the decrease of quality is related to how dds files are compressed upon saving. there's not much you can do really... it all depends on the image. try saving it as png and see if that helps.
