Hi thank you so much for this tutorial. It really helped when I made one of my new lamps but now I want to make another one and when I'm in vertex paint and have a part of my mesh selected in Solid. That part is white... and when I choose the color black and click on my mesh the part stays white.. What am I doing wrong?? I also clicked on the face selection.

Thank you Mathcope, I tried the Second option before I started this thread. It solved my Issue in Blender but when I imported the mesh into Sims 4 studio and everything looked just fine but ingame the object was flipped again.. :( And for option 1 Think I do something wrong because nothing happened.

Hello guys, I have a problem with the join option in Blender. I'm not a pro in Blender actually a starter and I've had a few creations where I used the join option and everything go well. But this time I have some issues and I don't know what is wrong... Every time I join two or more meshes together, one of the meshes turns out strange. It also happens when I export a mesh and import it to another blender file. I tried to google the solution and I read something about Normal maps and UV maps but my knowledge about blender isn't much and I'm still learning and English is not my native language. So I don't know what to do. Can someone explain to me what I did wrong? And how to fix it? HERE IS THE BLENDER FILE

Thank you so much! It was the overlapping UV maps! And I also lowered the poly to 1869! I don't have the see-through but maybe it is because of my In game settings

Hello , I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem. I've made a chair and everything looks fine except the shadowing. I think it's a Shadow Lod problem but I don't know how to fix it. I've changed the shadow lods a couple of times, I've changed the cuts (in blender) and I also thought maybe it is a specular map issue so I also changed that a couple of times (With specular - without - EA Specular) but none of this will fix the issue. In the first chair I've got the same settings/cuts as the mesh itself, cut 1 and 0 and in the second I've my shadow lod cuts all on cut 0. The first appears with a strange shadow and the second appears transparent. HERE ARE MY FILES : Chair 1 & Chair 2

The top seems to be fine now only the counter itself still has a glow. :(

I think you have opened one of the counters that I haven't done yet. I think you need to check counter 1 or 5 because that are the counters I tried to make it non glossy

Did you remove doubles on the whole mesh? That sometimes causes a glossy effect! Usually splitting edges will make it go away if it's not caused by the normal map or the specular map. Hi thanks for the reply! I dont know how to remove doubles (I dont even know what it is xD) I'm not that good in blender and I'm still learning. How do I do that?

Hi there! I hope someone can help me with my meshing problem. I've created some kitchen counters and did on one of them a spec map etc, but in-game it still looks very glossy. I think it is a blender thingy but I don't know how to fix it. As you can see the left one has a clear spec map and the other still has the old spec map from the original counter. I think it has something to do with the material setting in blender but I could be wrong I hope someone knows how to fix it and help me. I tried so many things and times I don't know what to do anymore...
