Hahaha, same here! It often happens when I restart the game to look at new cc. Origin knows when's the worst time to update!

Haven't seen anyone doing that but it would be a nice thing for sure!

Since I want to participate in the Sims 4 Studio section of this forum (bug reports, suggestions, translations, ...) but I'm not really of the talkative type, I am wondering how active I need to be to get access again? Is there a minimum of posts required?

Based on orangemitten's explanation and my own experience, it is like this:
for hair texture, saving as dds is superior for makeup and clothing, saving as png is superior
the downside of dds is that you will lose image quality every time you edit and resave it and saving takes a lot more time than for png. Keep a psd file of your texture (or whatever project format your software uses) to prevent this from happening.

I have 2 screens and noticed that the colour picker only works when I have s4s on the main screen and not on the 2nd. Maybe it's similar for you?

To me personally it really is a pitty to not be able to interact with you anymore since giving feedback, error reports and suggestions basically is the reason why I am here. I was just about to search for a thread that adresses that and it's sad to see that I won't be able to suggest anything anymore.
Well, at least the error I was about to tell you a while ago was fixed in the latest version so that's great!
Keep up the good work, without S4S Sims4 cc creation would be a pain!

Since nobody answered to this, I'll give the solution myself for anyone who might run into the same issue one day:
The newest version of S4S (3.0.1.8 Harmony) fixed the specular issue. If you want to use several specular maps, add a RLES file and give it an individual instance value. Go to the CAS Part entry of the swatch you want to link the specular map to. Find the section 'SpecularMap' and paste the values of the specular map in there.
However, you cannot have several normal maps since these are linked to the mesh.

For everyone who might run into the same problem:
Change the CompositionMethod to 0 for the item to be compatible with custom skins (those that come with their own colours). If it looks strangely pixelated with overlays/base game skins, set the CompositionMethod to 4 (won't be compatible with custom skins then).
I personally solved the issue by creating 2 versions.

Hey! So I intend to create a top clothing piece with 16 swatches where every swatch should have its own normal map and specular map. I did this before with specular maps in Sims4Studio Jackpot and it worked fine, but now I'm struggeling. I'm using Sims4Studio Harmony 3.0.1.7 at the moment. So I imported all the normal and specular maps with an individual instance each, went to the CAS parts and pasted the values into the corresponding sections. See pictures below. BUT: Whenever I paste the values of one normal map in the section of one particular CAS Part, all other CAS Parts automatically adopt these values so that every time all swatches have the same normal map, which is contradicting to what I want to achieve. The same applies to specular maps, so it's not restricted to the normals. What am I missing? Is there an option to prevent this automatic synchronization between the swatches?

Hey! I had the impression that the German translation was done by google translate and some parts were missing completely, therefore I reworked the German translation. It's not perfect but maybe a better base than the google translator version is. Find it here: German translation string file

Update (solved):The composition method causes the issue. Set it to 4 and it won't look pixelated (but won't show up on custom full-coverage skins anymore). I personally make 2 versions in these cases. One with composition Method 0 for full-coverage skins and one with composition method 4 for overlays. Original post:Hey-ho! I created some tears for the Sims 4 and placed them in the eyeliner category. They work perfectly fine with custom skins, but when I use them without custom skins or with skin overlays only, some weird blocks appear around/within the texture. I was facing a similar problem when I created a forehead texture that I placed in the blush category (the blocks appeared around the eyebrows then). See the problem on the right side of the picture below (there are different tears but the problem is the same for all of them). I'm thankful for every suggestion to fix this! - Remus
