This is kind of an odd question, and there's no easy way to ask it. Google mistakes the word "computer," for an actual real-life computer, so it's hard to search for a tutorial about this. I haven't found any so far. (To get one thing straight: By "computer," I mean the ones in The Sims 4. :p) I checked the tutorials on this site, and the most relevant one is about changing an object's tuning. Still helpful, but not quite what I'm looking for.
So here's my question: How can I override the Sims 4 computer interactions to display a video of choice, as well as change the animation that comes with using the computer?
If that doesn't make sense, I'll explain.
Over on Sexy Sims, there is a mod that changes what displays on the screen when "chat" is selected. It shows an explicit video instead of the friendly screen we're used to seeing. That same person also replaced an animation with his own custom one so that, when the computer is used while in a specific mood, it overrides the default animation. I won't give links or anything, as it is adult content, but you can find both mods on the 5th page of the downloads section to know exactly what I'm talking about.
...That's what I'm hoping to do. I want to add my own video and animation to one of the computers. The video will appear on the screen when "chat" is selected, and whoever watches it will perform a custom animation. I've wanted to do this for over a year now. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how modding works... I am hoping that someone has tried this before and knows how it is done. The person who made those mods hasn't been on that site since April, so I can't simply ask him how he did it. It's something I'd really love to know how to do though!
If anyone knows how it's done, and can make a tutorial (preferably with pictures or a detailed description), then I would really appreciate it. If not, that's alright. I can mess around with it until I figure it out, and maybe break my game in the process. :D
