I'm really stumped on how to fix this issue. There's this weird shadow on a CC that I made. There's no shadow like that in the .dds file, it doesn't show up in S4studio and it only shows up in-game. I removed the normal/specular/shadow maps and it did not fix the issue. I also checked if the UV layout of the "hoodie" and the "shirt" conflicted but no they're totally separate. Here's a download to the cc.

hi! can you please share the blend file? have you checked that the normals look fine in there? edge split might need to be applied around that area.

It should be fine, this mesh is EA's original. I didn't make any changes to it. In terms of texture the shirt part used to be a v neck but I changed it into a crew neck shirt.

Oh, so you never exported the mesh at any point?

Oh, so you never exported the mesh at any point? Nope, mesh untouched. The jacket was already base game compatible so I didn't need to do any of that. Anyways, I managed to get it fixed with the help of another simmer. I just completely started over with a new .package and the dark spots disappeared. I'm still curious though, do you know what probably went wrong? It's such an odd thing.

Oh! Okay, that's good to know! i was about to suggest that, since i couldn't see anything wrong at first glance. I'm glad that fixed it, i honestly can't tell what went wrong.
Also, since this is a base game with an untouched mesh there's no need to embed the geometry. That is only when you're going to modify it.
