I want to recolor a veil in Wild Miniature Sandwich's palette to teach myself how to recolor with gimp. The mesh is literally a plain grey rectangle. I have tried a few different methods after watching a few tutorials.
I tried using the colorizor, but I don't know how to get the specific shade with the tools. I tried making a transparent layer and used the dropper tool to get the specific color, but I want to be able to fit it to the mesh without using the eraser to erase the rest of the layer. (It has to be easier than that. The erasing method is somewhat tedious and a little messy.) I tried just recoloring the whole thing, but as you probably know it ended up turning the entire sim yellow (the color I'm starting with).
There has to be something I'm missing. I'd be so grateful if someone could either explain to me or direct me to a tutorial that shows how to recolor cas items with gimp when you want to use a palette (again, like WMS).
Thank you!

Import your Graphics / Colors from whatever you made with Gimp...directly into Blender and -" Color "- your Mesh in Blender.
Just assign the Material/s to the Mesh and you can re-map and adjust Everything right in Blender.

In using colorize use the arrows next to hue to find your color and adjust with lightness bar. You can also click the foreground square on the left of work area which also gives you the HTML notation - the EXACT color. If you are wanting a color from your image, use the eyedropper to change foreground color to find your html color. Undo and use this info in colorize

Thank you very much for the info! I figured out how to selected the color, put it in it's own transparent layer, and resize that over the mesh. It worked, and for now I'm happy with even this basic ability. Much appreciation for the blender videos too! My setup isn't ready to handle it yet, but I'm going to be upgrading soon to high sierra and that will hopefully make some stuff (like blender) run smoother.
