How to copy an interaction without overwriting it

Hi everyone! i wanted to know how to copy an existing interaction but without replecing it, for now i can only create mods from scratch, and i am "good" at it, i tried to changed the name like: "nameofthecreator:name of the mod" but the interaction is overwritten by the game again.
for example i want to add a new romantic interaction, so i copy an existing one and edit it from scratch but without overwriting.. hope u understand! thank u and sorry for my english
