Hi all, I recently extracted a top from a full body mesh, but it didn't have 3 separate categories (as used here in the S4S tutorial) so I'm just confused on how I can proceed. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here. I've tried importing the mesh into the package but nothing is working. For some reason, it is still adhereing to the older mesh. How can I make this into a top now? It appears it has weights already painted on. I'm at my wit's end. Here's the blend file for reference (google drive).

Hi. The top is correctly done on the blend file. You should clone a base game top and import the mesh into that, not into the full body package.
Is this for personal use?

You have to have a top you want to replace it with. Pick a top and go into meshes and import your mesh. This is the important part make sure the top you're replacing has the same number of cuts as your mesh. I'm using a the default bra to import my mesh into because it has only one cut. After adding your mesh go into Textures and import what you have for that. I hope it helps.

Yeap its for personal use ☺️ The weird thing is, the mesh refuses to load on import. Nothing is showing up, so idk if it's something I am doing wrong? It is better to not use nudes or underwear as a base. Please clone another base game top and share the package you're working with.
Are you a windows or apple user?

I'm on Windows 7. Here's the package file I'm working with here . I've imported the separated mesh into the package file already. I've even imported the same file for all 4 LODs. I dont know why it isnt showing up at all.

The blend somehow got bugged. I tried several things, but what worked was separate the shirt from the body (select, ctrl+p / selection) to another mesh group. Then, recalculate from the uv tab. And then join everything again. HERE's the modified file, let me know if it imports properly on your side.

Wow I would've never found out on my own that it was a blend issue. Could you teach me how to recalculate from the UV tab? or link me some useful links? I'm still fairly unfamiliar with Blender myself, only focusing primarily on pose-making and recently trying out frankenmeshing. Separately, I recently had an animation that had massive problems trying to get imported into S4S as well (which resulted in the animation just doing the T-pose) and could only work once I imported an older version of the blend. Do you think some setting in my Blender might be the root of both problems?

there isn't a tutorial since it's just an option. As for the pose, I wouldn't know, since it hasn't related to this topic it is better to create a new thread with the file. I talk from my own experience, upon installation no settings bed to be changed on blender or in S4S. some have issues with S4S not recognizing blender but that's usually because the installation location is changed or isn't the default.
