Even after this I need to see how to take out whatever allows this to be on tables, but first things first. Right now I'm trying to convert the future graves from Sims 3. But progress has been .... frustrating. 1) I want to be able to engrave epitaphs on these objects. But I just can't get it to work. I've went through the custom turning tutorial, but no matter how I work with the XML it just doesn't allow me to engrave or read epitaphs. 2) Also annoyingly, I haven't been able to get the "hologram" or "beam of light" bits to look right. They look alright in Studio, but in the game the stuff behind the objects are blurred. And it isn't fully transparent where I want it to be either (although it IS translucent). Talk about frustrating! It's cloned form the "Whatever the Weather Seasons Award."

So unfortunately I can't help you with tuning, but for the transparency issue maybe this tutorial could help you?

I tried it, but the problem persists.
Note: it's not that the objects aren't translucent, it's that the parts of the mesh that should be fully transparent aren't. Like ... it looks like the "stone" hologram sits on top of a triangle because the parts that should be fully transparent aren't here.
And, although I guess it's not illustrated in my screen cap, the view through the hologram part is blurry a bit. Not just hard to see, but blurry.
edit: Nevermind! I used the wrong file to test.
Okay, so, the see through part is good. You can still kinda see the edges of the "beam of light", but I guess I have to live with that.
edit#2:Finally, FINALLY solved the issue. Ultimately it was that I didn't read the XML correctly, I think.
