How do you make overrides like for cups, plates, glasses ect. I want my sims' dishes to look fancier, much like annachibi sims did with her mug overrides.

Depends, do you just want to change the texture or the model?

That is - or used to be at least - fairly simple as most plates etc. share a texture. You simply have to find the textures for the objects you wish to modify and replace them. In practical terms that means finding an object that contains the diffuse you wish to replace (for example the empty plate object, which is a debug item), making a default override of it, deleting everything but the resources you wish to change from said package (that step is very important to avoid conflicts with other mods) make your desired changes, save and test.
Two things I noted when I made default replacements for the plates myself were, that the bump for the plates in the empty plate object is a generic one while the actual plate bump can be found in the individual food items. Also Grilled Cheese and Herbcrusted Salmon are two recipes constructed differently from any other food in game and have their plate diff on the same diff as the food, in other words they require special treatment.

Though how do you do this with the group plate and bowl when I looked for the debug bug items it the genxXxfailed or something like that so should I even try to override those or no?
