I'm almost done with this piece of cc but when I went to test it in game the weights look all wonky? I tried to edit the sims body and click on the chest to move it but instead the head width moved instead. And when I tried the other edit point on the sims upper half, they didn't move like they were supposed to—the body points moved the head, or not at all.
I was following a tutorial to make this, and I used Blender 2.70 to transfer the weights and check them in blender before importing to s4s so they look correct in blender and such.
I would just like to know where I went wrong as I believe I followed the tutorial as correctly as possible with all the transfers and such

Don't really have the time to check the file but this is a UV_1/vertex paint issue not weight.

Hi! The vertex paint is perfectly fine Not sure what happened here, but the UV_1 seems to be misplaced. You'll have to re do it. I suggest selecting all skin body parts (as shown in the picture, you can select it all from the UV_1 since you have sync on), remove doubles and separate them to another mesh group. Hover the mesh, press P and (selection). Follow the uv_1 tutorial (below) and then join both mesh groups again (In object mode, right click the body parts group, shift right click the clothing and ctrl+j. I suggest following this video tutorial instead of the written one if that's the one you followed.

I'm really sorry but I'm a bit lost. I separated the skin parts and started following the video tutorial, but the steps on the tutorial are a bit different. The tutorial doesn't separate the skin from the clothing parts before doing the data transfer, but you said that I should, and then it deletes the skin parts and replaces them with other parts from another file. Should I be following the tutorial and do the transfer on the seperated skin parts, or on the separated shirt part? Also when I went to edit mode on uv_1 the sections still look wrong and wonky like in your first picture. I must have gone wrong somewhere, but I am thoroughly confused.

It's really the same thing. But since your body parts are already cut where you want it to be, re importing the originals means that you'll have to cut them again... which isn't worth it.
Sometimes you have to adapt the tutorials to your needs. Doesn't mean that you have to follow each step religiously. As i suggested above, just follow the transfer part. Once you're done, join your two mesh groups.

Oh, okay, it makes a lot more sense now! After I finished joining both groups together and checked the uv_1 the skin and top parts are still separate, but it looks different from your image now—so this is okay?

The image i shared was your file. Both parts of the UV should be together. Please share the updated blend file so i can have a look

Sorry, for the late reply. So I followed the steps of the tutorial and I checked the uv 1 again, both of the uv parts are together, so I hope this is how it's supposed to properly look: simfileshare.net/download/432788/

Ummm.. did you apply the uv_1 transfer to all the mesh? instead of just the clothing? The uv_1 from the skin parts look very different (compare it to the picture i shared on my previous post). The reason i suggest applying transfers (weights, uvs ect) only to clothing and not EA skin parts is because OUR transfers aren't perfect and as "clean" as EA does their things. You can tell that by only comparing them side by side. So to ensure the best results, is best to leave EA's parts intact since those are perfectly fine.
You can either leave it like this, and see how it tests in game. Or, delete the body parts and re append the previous body parts version with the uv untouched and join them.

OH, oh my. I think I get where the mistake came in now. I did the transfer first on the skin parts and then on the clothing mesh and then joined the two parts. From the way you describe it I was only supposed to do the transfer on the seperated clothing parts and then join the two groups together, right? OKAY TIME TO FIX MY MISTAKE—let me try this a different way and get back to you!
