Hey y'all. So, i've been trying to change the Laundry Day Washing machine sounds, in particular the ending and beginning sounds (ending as in the little tune that plays when the cycle is over, it has a few variations depending on how well it went, and beginning as the button pressing and knob turning, which i'm pretty sure is all together but it also could not be!).
I've been DIGGING with my bare hands into the game's files, C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\SP13\ClientFullBuild0 to be precise, to see how this all works.
So far i've found out that: - Tuning of an object does NOT list the sounds used since they're included in the CLIP files;
- AUD is the format the game uses for sounds, i've been able to extract all of the sounds in the Stuff Pack and convert a few, i even succeded in picking a few of the ones i was interested in (the final tune sound), converted using EAlayer3;
- CLIP files list sound events and describe the sound used with a name like, for example, SoundName: washingmachine_door_open, but when i extracted the sound files they were all named after their Type Group Instance values, for example 01A527DB!001407EC!4954C851C953A9CE, and idk how to guess which is which based on my basic knowledge of the sims 4 sound system;
- Using EA Layer i'm pretty sure i can ENCODE a new file into their format, which is AUD or AudioVocals;
Help! :c

Hi littledica99. You certainly have done all of your homework for what you need to do & where to look for what you want! While I have not gone where you want to go with changing sounds, if you can re-encode into the proper format with all of its requirements, then it *should* be as simple as creating a new, empty package & importing your new sound into it - as long as it has all of the exact same TGI IDs. All of my personal experience with modifying/over riding the original game files tells me that this (again) *should* give you the results that you are after. So far, until the official team does yet another change in the game engine to make it harder for us to create a "Our Game, Our Way" that they used to advertise, it seems that if there is a package with the same TGI as an original file, the game will select the 'new' file as over ride.
I hope this is of some help!
