I've been downloading clayified hairs for a while and the problem is that I can't stand having alpha hair on my game. So, Is it possible to mass-import and mass-export textures with S4S? I'd love to do so as it would be a lot faster for me.
Thanks for reading!
P.S.: I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this... Sorry in advance, hahaha.

Hi acid-plumbobs, as the beginning of adding this entire feature, Studio is able to export all mesh and texture components from a package at once. This early version of a more robust feature uses a cheat code and does not allow selection of what gets exported - all meshes and textures are exported. They are, however, exported in such a way that you will be able to tell what's what and delete the elements you don't want. In the future, this feature will be added to the UI as a full export-import all feature. To use a cheat type Ctrl Shift and C all at once to bring up the cheat box. Type in: studio.exportall The batch export box will spin as Studio exports all the resources. It will export them to a folder inside the project folder that contains the package. The folder will have the same name as the package followed by the word Resources. Inside, each resource will be clearly named.

Hi Orangemittens, If we use the cheat studio.exportall, will the Batch Import button be able to match the exported files to their original sources? Thanks, Erasimus

Do you mean the batch import button in the Warehouse? If so, no, this is not going to work. Studio's Warehouse import button serves a different purpose.
If you're up to trying something that is almost completely untested, you could try the cheat: studio.importall that was added in the latest version. If you do so, please be aware that the feature is almost completely untested and may not work as expected. If you or anyone else gives it a try, your results would be interesting to know.
This cheat was included a bit unintentionally as it has undergone almost no testing - hence, it was not included in the list of new features added to Studio. This should be kept in mind if anyone decides to try it out.

Hi Orangemittens, I tried the studio.ImportAll cheat and it only imports files named 'Swatch_X_Diffuse_1' (substitute X for image/file number). It does not import Shadow or Specular files, but these can be done easily in Studio. Still, it is very useful. Good job so far!

Same result here. As time permits, the feature will be smoothed out. Thank you for testing and reporting

It worked great, except the catalogue thumbnails wouldn't import properly. I don't know if that's just because it was flooring though -- floor thumbs haven't worked properly in S4S for ages (they won't auto-populate like with walls, or in-game like with other objects, so you have to create them and add them manually, which is no real hardship if you set up a batch action in Photoshop).

Hi amoebae, I'm glad to hear the diffuse images imported as expected. Someone else recently pointed out the problem with floor catalog thumbnails generating - this issue will be fixed in an upcoming version of Studio.

I've just used it on a set of walls. It didn't populate the thumbnails for that either, whereas importing walls one-by-one does populate the thumbs usually. So there's something else going on there beyond the floor thumbs being otherwise broken. It's still faster than importing walls manually, because I only have to spend time importing the thumbs, rather than each of the 3 wall heights individually. But if you do continue working on this feature I hope thumbnails are supported at some point! One thing I would mention about the thumbs for wall sets - I usually import files from tall to short, so the final thumb uses the short wall as its source. This means there's usually more detail visible (everything becomes smaller if you use the tall wall as the source for the thumb). If you do implement thumb support with the batch import, it'd be useful for the short wall texture to be flagged as the source, if that's at all possible. Other than that, though, importing the walls seems to have worked great

I read that the cheat to batch import works for diffuse textures and swatch thumbnails, but does it work for custom catalog thumbnails? That would be hella awesome! I see amoebae did it for a build item, but I was wondering if it'd work for CAS items as well. I would've asked this on the Suggestions for Sims 4 Studio thread, but I can't reply there, I'm sorry for asking here if that's a prob. Thanks for the good work! orangemittens

Hi Gabe, the batch export/import should work on CAS items also.

This is so interesting, it would be a great feature to further develop. I just gave it a try with a decorative object. I couldn't make it work with DDS textures, only PNG.

Hi Gabe, the batch export/import should work on CAS items also. I know the feature is kinda untested, but I'm sure a report is good anyways. When batch-importing CAS Catalog Thumbs only the 1st one (out of 65 swatches) selected is affected. Sadly, it didn't work for those at all. Edit: Maybe I should've opened the game and let it create its own catalog thumbs first? I only thought about that now. Gon give it a try.

Sorry to bump this but I've been on an S4S cheat spree, and these two are seriously the most amazing ones so far. Anyone else have further success with the import cheat? Gabe Did letting them generate help with importing?
