Hello again! It's my second post here in the last few months, I'm sorry If I post too many problems:( I don't know if I should post it here or in S4S Error Reports sorry. I think this problem is much simpler than the previous one. I can't recolor without the mesh. I followed the tutorial HERE , I copied the file into C:\Users\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Mods and when open S4S I always choose "Create CAS Standalone" NOT "Create 3D Mesh" but it always includes the mesh (see the photo below). I tried with different .package file from different creator, the result is still the same. Thank you! Sims 4 Studio Version: 3.1.1.5 Wishes

Hey there! If I'm not mistaken, when you create a Standalone Recolor the preview will show up as if the mesh was there. To test out if the mesh isn't included, try to remove the original .package file from the Mods folder (of Sims 4 Studio), and reopen your .package file, with your recolor; the mesh should've "dissapeared" from the preview, but the poly count remains the same.
Hope it makes sense!

hi! to know if there's mesh or not, head over to the warehouse, if you see geometry strings, then the mesh is there. if not, there isn't.

Hi morathami, when Studio was first made and the tutorial you followed written, when a person clicked the button to make a recolor, that's all they would be able to make from that clone. The Harmony version of Studio added new flexibility to the process so that people can change their mind after they've made the clone and started working on the item. This feature makes it so that the only resources Studio will include in the package when you save it are resources that you have changed. All others are referenced from the item you cloned. What this means is, you will only have meshes in your package if you import a new mesh into the package and click the Save button (or change the bump map). If you do not click the meshes tab and import a new mesh, your package will only contain the resources necessary for your recolor. Please note, when you change the bump map, Studio will include the meshes because the bump map is stored in the same resource the meshes are stored in. The entire resource has to be added (bump and meshes).

Thank you for all of your replies! Unfortunately, I've tried checking my .package file in the game without the original .package and it works fine (that it shouldn't because it should have no mesh). I don't click meshes and import a new mesh. I don't change the bump map too:(

Hi morathami, if you clone a CC CAS item using Studio, it will not include the mesh unless you add that mesh yourself, add a new bump, or click the option in the Tools menu to add all resources to the package. That is simply how Studio's code works. It has worked this way for a long time and for everyone else who has used this application. If you are finding that your item works in the game there are three possibilities. One - the original that your recolor was cloned from is in your Sims 4/Mods folder or Two - you imported a mesh or a new bump image into the package or Three- you chose to embed all externally referenced resources which you should not do if what you want to end up with is a recolor. Studio cannot add a CAS mesh to a package on its own - only a creator can add a mesh to a package.

or ... the package doesn't have a custom mesh but simply something that it's already in game? :p.. there's no way to tell without seeing the cloned and original package.
