you also need to uv map it into the correct place. please download this image and open it in blender to put the hair's uv in the proper area.

Hi I know this is an old post but I decided to revisit porting hair to sims 4 ;w; I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix the uvs? can anyone help me :c I used the template but the uvs are weirdly misshapen from the texture example in my deviantart stash; sta.sh/0fto01acw6c

wait okay I think I got the texture issue resolved now my only issue is the hair shows up in ts4 studio but not the game... example; sta.sh/0tbwswjrud9im posting a download of the package so someone can help me understand what I did wrong :( sta.sh/01gkyb7xhc5b

Hi. Cut numbers of meshgroups in the imported blend file must correspond to cut numbers of those meshgroups that are being replaced. A hair blend consist one a main shape meshgroup and 2 hat chops to interact with 2 types of hats. Your main shape has a cut number of a hat chop and vice versa, which is why your are seeing the wrong mesh in CAS.
Your hair also has no uv_1 map. It should be vertex painted with 007F00. Edges should be painted with 007F3F
