Hey, all! Veteran simmer but new to Sims 4 here! I'm currently attempting to do something very weird, but I have my reasons and need some help with it. I'm attempting to convert Cooper322's Skeleton Outfit, sounds/ jaw movement and all, into an accessory so that I can wear (ill-fitting, I know) clothes on top of it. Without doing any heavy editing, I get a skeleton with a mistextured torso with clothes textures that leak onto the skull. Does anyone have any ideas? Any alternatives? There may be threads already that aid this idea, but I'm kind of dumb and need the advice applied to my specific situation to understand anything, lmao. Thanks in advance!

hi! just like any new CAS item, the mesh needs to be: mapped, weighted (uv & uv_1), vertex painted and mesh groups (with cut numbers) properly match the original accessory. if you have texturing issues then you need to map the mesh on the correct place. in your case, extra parts or some other accessory so it doesn't overlap skin and clothing. take a look at this thread and the links I give on my reply: sims4studio.com/thread/11497/help-accessory-jacketif you need more assistance, please share blend and package file.

So in that case, since the texture is body sized that it's impossible to set it to only the tiny earring slot? Or do I have to create a new map or something? I am VERY new to CC so these more obscure concepts just kinda blow me out of the water, lmao. Here's the package and blend straight out of the download with no editing so you can see how it's currently set up.

Posting a picture of the item so others can understand it too. Turns out i completely misread what you wrote on your first post. I thought you wanted to use the bones "over" the clothes (i rolled with it anyway haha who knows).. not the complete oposite. Let's see, firstly. There's no way you can do that... your accessory will show up hidden inside the sim's body.. so you won't be able to see it at all. You can't make the body parts disappear by wearing an accessory. Or maybe i'm not understanding the concept of your item. As for the UV, it's impossible to use it as it is. All those UV parts are overlapping clothing and body parts. You can't use it like that, please read the link i posted and follow that guide and UV texture mapping. All of that, needs to be mapped on either hat or extra parts. There's not much else you can do.

Allllrighty. I figured it was going to be weird/not doable. Trying to basically replace the body with the skeleton only using an accessory. Thanks for your help anyways, though! ;v;

since the body parts are parts of the clothes its quite impossible but if you have a certain costume you want the skeleton to wear, you can always export that item,remove the human body parts and merge it to the skeleton, you have to fix the uvmap and edit the mesh to fit the skeleton though. example:

That's what I was thinking of doing as a last resort thing. No easy massive lookbook for my skellly, but it's better than nothing!

Hello there! I stumbled upon this thread by chance, but there is something about having skeletons in all kinds of funny outfits crash my family outings that intrigues me. So I played around with this a little bit. I did by no means find anything close to the perfect solution you probably hoped for, but maybe I've got something else. It's only slightly less work intensive than g1g2's suggestion (if at all), but it should be a little more flexible in terms of mixing and matching different articles of clothing: Use the full body skeleton suit as is (save for some slight uv map tweaks) and turn the desired clothing options into accessories. Since the skeleton suit doesn't use the extra face texture space, it's almost* unused. Just push the uv map up, do the same for the textures, done. The body texture space is now free for the fashion statement of your choice. *Up top the skeleton textures will collide with hats and face accessories. It depends on personal preference if you don't care about them anyway or if you're okay with sacrificing a little bit of texture quality to make them work. Since I'm at my potato laptop at the moment and can't see the difference anyway, I just squeezed the texture to the left. It's the same height, but 50% less in width. Like that I can use most hats and all face accessories. Okay, but what about the clothes? As g1g2 mentioned already, wherever you can see the body underneath a clothing item its part of the mesh. So you'll still need to pull up blender to get rid of that weak human flesh, but at least you don't have to edit the uv map for every single piece. Next up is slots. Hats, earrings, glasses, necklaces, wristbands and rings already show above the skeleton suit by default. (Or I think they do- for me they did but I kinda forgot if this was before or after changing the mesh, uh, anyway...) If you want to be able to use everything at the same time that leaves you with gloves, leggings and socks. Perfect fit for tops, bottoms and shoes. Except that gloves won't work. Well, er, but you can use the right forefinger (is that the right term? I'm using Sims4Studio in another language) instead, as there is no EA ring that uses this specific slot at this point in time. Phew, saved. That's it*. Convert your favourite outfit parts and mix and match to your hearts content. *Not really. There is still some fiddling with region maps (base 0 for the skeleton suit, base 10 for everything else) and layers (SortLayer of untucked tops must be higher than that of any bottoms used together with them) to be done so everything shows up as expected, but that's only a matter of a minute or two. I don't know if this is helpful at all. It's in the middle of the night.
What am I doing? Also, I just noticed I took this picture before I fixed the layers. Oh well.

Can someone make a tutorial video about this topic? Because I don’t know anything about uv mapping.
