My turn to ask for help: I followed this tuto here but instead of a marvelous designer dress, I used a mesh from TS3. I did all the steps and everything seemed like it would work, but the mesh does not load into S4S. Could someone please take a look in my .blend file and see if I'm missing something?
Many thanks in advance!

Thanks for taking a look.

The basic premise you should ALWAYS follow for any CAS or build/buy item is: The blend you're importing MUST have the SAME amount of mesh groups with their respective cut numbers. The original dress you cloned has 5 mesh groups. Your mesh should have the same so all groups are replaced correctly. I'm not sure why you picked this item in particular to start with. I would clone the outfit chemise that has only 1 group and import your blend there. If you have any weight issues (vertices flying) then export the original chemise and use that as reference mesh for the transfers. For the sake of having a clean and organized blend file remember: delete all rig copies (.001), rename mesh groups accordingly s4studio_mesh_1 and never leave hidden elements hidden around that you don't want to import back. Also, your mesh has seams on both sides. You have to select all body parts in edit mode and Remove doubles. Do the same with the dress.

Thank you! I had no idea about the same amount of groups, I only picked the dress that seemed similar. Been reading and watching tutos and people say to pick a reference that look similar to the one you're doing, guess the correct info would be what you wrote above. Now for a super noobie question: how do I count the parts of mesh I'm converting? When I look at the UV map of the ts3 dress I thought I had 2 parts: the dress(1) and the shoulderband(2), but you count this as only one part. So it will be usefull to know where or how I can count so I can pick a similar item in the future. This was very helpful. I'll try again following your advice and will report back.

Well, re-did the whole thing, this time using the chemise, removed the doubles, removed files no longer in need for the final version and still S4S won't load the mesh. No error, nothing it just doesn't load. :-[ The new files are here, in case you or someone else can take a look: www.simfileshare.net/download/606595/Thanks again, any help is super appreciated.

Hey gig2, thanks for taking a look. I'm on a mac using a virtual machine, yes, but I found the solution. The problem is that the folder with the .blend file was on the virtual disk and once I moved it, it loaded. YAY! Super happy that it worked. Much to learn and improve, but for 1st try I'm super happy with the results. Thanks to inabadromance that pointed my in the right direction.
