Thanks once again! I was able to fix the square-y shape of many models by removing doubles, however sometimes it also seems to remove textures in certain models so I had to do it in a very precise manner which didn't seem to be worth the effort for smaller models that are more for scenes than actual house deco. Anyways, you all have my gratitude! Though it probably won't be long before I have more questions, ah the life of a novice modder :D
Edit: A last mostly curious question though, why does the models look better on the S4S preview as if smoothed to perfection already?

Probably because the lighting setup in studio is different and is designed to light the objects from all angles meaning that each surface gets an equal amount of light so they look more uniform. The lighting in blender and the game is much more directional so the shadows and differences in surface angles becomes more obvious.
