Since the last time I posted here I got such great help I decided to try my luck again. I've created a ring from scratch (a totally different style, design, etc. from the EA Mesh I got my weights, etc. from) now I need to texture it but I can't figure out how. I know I have to edit the diffuse file from s4s but it's the same as the EA Ring, not mine. I've tried everything I can think of from covering an outline of my uv map with textures to placing them randomly and no matter what I try, the textures just don't seem to place properly. This is definitely all user error as this is my first time doing anything other than recolors so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

From what I can see by looking at the files you provided (thank you) is that you are not placing your texture in the right place. To make sure you are painting your texture where it should be, you can tell blender to export your UV layout for you which will save a .png image file with the shape and location of your UV on it.
To do this, open your blend file and select your ring mesh and then press Tab to go into Edit mode. Make sure that all of your mesh is selected by pressing A until all of your mesh is highlighted orange. Now, under the UV section of the screen on the left, between the UVs option and the + New button, there should be a tiny little button with a picture on it. Click that little button and select DiffuseMap from the options. Now click on the UVs option and go to the very first option at the top and choose Export UV Layout. Now navigate to where you want to save your layout image, give it a name, and click Export UV Layout in the upper right of the screen. You can now open this .png file in any image editing software and you will be able to see exactly where to place your texture so that it fits on your ring.
Something to note though. I noticed that your mesh is called "4 - Band". This is not correct. It should have exactly the same name as the original item you started with which is usually "s4studio_mesh_0". Also your ring UV could probably be improved quite a bit as you do have extra space to work with when you compare it to the EA original. Yours is VERY small.
I hope that this has been of some use to you.

Hi! you have to clone a new item each time. if you've just saved the file with different names then that's the issue.
