Hey! hopefully this is the correct place to post this (sorry if its not im still quite new to s4s) But, i am having a problem, and im pretty sure its not supposed to look like this based on other tutorials i have watched.. I have trying to retexture alpha hairs in photoshop, the first photo is what it looks like normally and what i believe it should still look like in photoshop (please correct me if im wrong) and the second photo is what it is looking like whenever i open it in photoshop.. it looks all pixelated and weird, its happening with other hairs as well. can someone please help me! im not sure why this is happening

If you're exporting as .dds, it looks like this because the edge detail/alpha (the fade and hair strands etc) are stored on the alpha layer, which you can find in layers>alpha. If you're exporting as .png, stop and export as .dds instead.

If you're exporting as .png, stop and export as .dds instead. yes i am exporting from s4s as a .dds do i find that in photoshop? i looked at the "layer" at the top of photoshop and i dont see anything that says alpha

Hi! If you're just recoloring the base texture you don't need to fiddle with the alpha channel. But it's there, and it should remain as it is. That's why, when you're done, you save the textures as dds dxt5 with alpha.
