I was wondering how I can make my CC look as polished and HD as MXIMS ( reference - mxims.tumblr.com/tagged/mycc) and hvikis ( reference - hvikis.tumblr.com/tagged/hvikiscc). If anyone knows tips on how to do this, I'd really appreciate it! *Just to clear this up, I want to make really high definition textures for my CC objects.

Well ... I really do not know if this helps you but if you want to make real HD textures you would need the HQ MOD but surely you already know that I hope someone else will help you n-n

Not sure if I understand - are you trying to create your own realistic CC textures or take pictures of CC in your game?

monas: The HQ mod only affect CAS items though. Using higher resolution textures definitely helps to increase the texture quality and the level of detail of build&buy items.

thanks for correcting me, sometimes the information that is given needs to be seen by others so that they give another opinion n-n I think if you use as it says remussirion textures hd that is, of more resolution of 2048 could it be? with photoshop you can find the size of the image the height and width
for example an ocean HD computer has a diffuse size of 2048x2048 if you download the mxsims computer you would also see that it has 2048x2048
is that a computer has many details, the keyboard, the quality of the keys but obviously this is a reference try to download the objects you mention and set your size sure they have multiples of 2
smaller objects need a smaller size
the rate of mxsims is 1024x1024
if you made it much smaller, the detail would also look worse (I think)
all that information would also be working the cpu, maybe it would go to 100% peaks
or maybe you could not play normally if you make very huge hd textures but if you have a powerful pc, a very good graphic ... ahead

I use photos that have realistic textures and are vectorized. I used my real life laptop for some of the details on my TS3 conversion of the university life laptop to TS4. Most images need to be vectorized or the quality is poo. If the size of the photo shows major detail and is a really good size, then there isn't a problem. If I need to scale the image down, I make sure I know the size it needs to be first, then, I scale the actual photo to that size and make necessary touch ups. (I use GIMP 2.10) I never ever use a photo rescale and then rescale it again....no matter how great of a quality it is to begin with it will always be pixelated. Never scale up! You lose quality very quickly this way. The image should always be just slightly bigger than what you need. If you are thinking about making the actual textures without using photos, ask the creators that make the cc you love. They usually respond quickly. Another creator you can ask is peacemaker. He is really really good and respond to ask me things fairly quickly. You will find that most of your favorite creators use images, but there are a few that usually do it by hand....Cashcraft at TSR does hers....Shannanisim here at S4S does her own texturing...I am sure she could give you pointers if you ask her. She does marvelous work!!! I almost forgot...there is a tutorial from a creator on how to make a dbl bed, a square pillow, a couch, and a baluster pillow. In that tutorial she shows how she does her texturing, creating her normal map, etc. Here is the link to her tut. Don't know if it will help, but it can really help with the bump map... Sanjana Sims Studio TutorialHope this helps you out. Good luck and let us know if you need anything else. It can be a very tedious and frustrating journey, but the end result is so rewarding....(coughs when it works in game)
