Hi!
Firstly, I apologize if I post this in the wrong place and if my english is so-so. I'm extremely new to CC; so much so that I can't figure how to complete the process. My problem is that I want to use Maya to work since I'm so used to it, but it will not cooperate with Blender 2.7. When I try to import my mesh in Blender in FBX, it doesn't work. The mesh is not in the outliner, no error is showing up and there is no clue to help me resolve or understand this issue. I tried exporting/importing my model in OBJ, but to no avail. I tried using Maya 2016 to see if that could help since I am with 2018 right now, but it didn't worked. I tried to download and install add-ons to make the import doable in 2.7, but it failed too. I also tried downloading the old file converter from Autodesk, but it didn't help either. So I tried uninstalling Blender 2.7 to install Blender 2.79... it worked with Maya 2018, but it doesn't with Sims 4 Studio since it doesn't support this version of Blender. I've been looking forums for several hours now, but I can't find a way to make those two work together and I'm at my wit's end. What should I do? Also, are you planning on updating Sims 4 Studio to the latest Blender or for it to be able to support file type other than the ".blend" ones?
Thank you very much and have a good day! :D

Studio will work only with Blender. You will need to find a solution either on Maya support forum or on Blender support forum (unless someone who really knows how to help you chimes in here).

hi! I'm not a maya user, but what's the problem with .obj? that sounds like the simplest type for it to not work. as for blender, you should have 2.70 installed for it to work with S4S. but you can have the other as a folder by downloading the zip version. maybe that works out?

Adding to what inabadromance said already, if you don't want to have two different blenders on your computer you can always try to find a Maya to Blender plugin. Blender is a bit picky when it comes to import meshes from other programs so sometimes the best is to look for one of those. Just make sure the plugin is for your Blender's version.

Hi! Thank you all for your answers! inabadromance The reason why .obj doesn't work is a mystery for me as well. I asked some tips to my coworker who suggested me to try to change the FBX file format while exporting the mesh (seeing as the .obj doesn't work) and so I did. I also switched it's type from Binary to ASCII to see if it would make any difference, but it didn't. Flertzia Thanks for the tip! For now, the add-on I tried didn't work; would you happen to know one by any chance? Or a relatively safe website were I could download one? ^^ Feyona In the end, I asked my coworker today (the same from above) since he's knowledgeable and one of the solution that he came up with was to simply go around everything using two Blender iterations. The process now ressemble this: Export the model in .blend from Sims 4 Studio to Blender 2.7->Export it in .fbx and import it in Maya->Do what you want then export it in .fbx to Blender 2.79->Save it in .blend and reopen it in Blender 2.7 to have it re-save in .blend with this iteration. That's a sad process, but it works! It's also a first step towards making my first CC. Thank you!
