Freezing death after abduction...is it a bug?

Anyone else having this issue? I'm aware the sims can get stuck in places and with bigger households it's more likely to slip by because you've got so many to watch... however, I am noticing an increased frequency of deaths and near deaths due to winter and alien abductions. For example, a sim wants to check lights in winter and usually go out in pjs. They get abducted, but their chilled buff is maintained and it takes them a few minutes to come back down. Once they return, if they stand there for any length of time other than to run right back inside... they freeze to death and usually they don't just go straight back inside, they stand there to emote an alien buff/debuff before heading back in.

It feels like a bug... like the chilled debuff should be going away while they're in the alien ship being abducted, but it's not going away.
