I'm recolouring a Maxis match hair that didn't have EAxis colours which is something new for me, unfortunately I've become a bit stuck on linking the swatch colours correctly. I'm aware that the game links hair colour based on the hex code of the swatch and the code has to be exact and I believe from reading around the codes are as follows:
#111111 Black
#3A251D Dark Brown
#604733 Brown
#AC3832 Red
#AC5333 Auburn
#C8762E Orange
#D1B350 Blonde
#D5A96C Dirty Blonde
#FFF2C8 Platinum
#E3E4E4 White
#ABAEB6 Gray
#CA9DCA Purple Pastel
#EB5FAE Hot Pink
#2742B0 Dark Blue
#32D4B9 Turquoise
#21BB3B Green
#78644B Brown Salt and Pepper
#525252 Black Salt and Pepper
Now, I'm using S4S 1.2.1.5 (Candy Apple) and I know functionality is a little more stripped back than the Windows version due to pressures on the development and testing side, however I can't seem to find a way to actually enter these hex codes to choose a swatch colour:
To circumvent this, I attempted to go to Photoshop, paint a bit of each of the correct colours based on their hex code and use the eye-dropper tool you can see above to choose it. Went into the game, no joy - always defaults to black. I thought maybe I had typed in the wrong hex codes or maybe photoshop was somehow slightly changing the colour so instead opened all of the hex codes in color-hex.com and again eye-dropped each swatch but still it wasn't working.
While trying again, I noticed that each time I revisited a swatch the position of the crosshairs and the darkness shifted slightly. Even if I make a change, save, exit and reopen the file, the swatch would have very slightly changed colour. I've attached two versions of the dark brown swatch below:
On the left is what the eye-dropper has been picking up (#39241D - completely wrong) and on the right is what the swatch seems to save as no matter what I do (#3A251F - so close!).
So to recap: I can't seem to eye-drop the correct colour and have it save correctly, and as far as I can see I can't enter the hex code directly. And so that's pretty much where I'm at, am I just being very stupid and missing something obvious (in which case please let me know!!) or if should I give up lol?
Anyways, any help would be appreciated! Thanks
