I havent been able to set Sims 4 Studio as the default program for .package files since 3.1.18. I had it put in my folder I put my sims only stuff folder manually and with the new version I installed it with exe. I removed the older version and now it wont accept my new program. Any help would be great. I have tried to change the program every way I can. Im wondering if I need to install the old version and than uninstall it. I dont have that version on my pc any more and would need the installer. Please help me fix this. Thanks.

Yes it opens the program but the icons dont change and next time I open it, it asks if I want to continue using the old version. I have tried many of the steps the internet says but nothing sticks. I have even uninstalled the sims studio, restarted and redid it and it didnt help. I have none of the other version on my pc. I looked unless I somehow missed some. I go into the apps and try and change the option for .package files and it gives me no options to change it. Its really annoying. The program itself is working fine. But all my .package files are white files and I have to open it but putting in sims 4 studio each time.

Can I have a copy of the older versions .exe please? I think I need to install it and uninstall it. I need 3.1.1.8.

package files can be white icons and still work. I don't have my package files associated with any program and I can access them via studio without any troubles with the most recent version. Also the game sees them just fine. The game reads them as they are and studio reads them that way too.
There are no older version of Studio once it's upgraded they take down the new one.
What I think you're asking for is something that could be considered a suggestion change to the way studio is used. You're suggesting that you would like it better if you could default associate studio to the packages so that you could double click on the package and the package file would open up sims 4 studio instead of having to use studio to open the package file.

No. I have had no issues with defaulting .package files to Sims 4 Studio in past. But now it wont let me do that and wants the older version. Im aware the package files work just fine as white files. I even said the program works fine. My problem is that it wont not see the older version so I cant set it for the new version. Im not sure how its a suggestion since its always been possible to do. I think the problem lies in that I used to add the program to a folder that I put my excess sims 4 stuff and this time I used the exe and deleted the older version. It seems to me like it wants me to uninstall 3.1.18 it but I dont have the older version exe to try and do that. So I have been wondering how to get rid of that program so I wont be asked to use it again.

Ok I figured it out. It took me a while but I did. When it asked for 3.1.1.8 it was asking for S4S files location. So I had to uninstall the .exe version of the newest S4S. I had to take the zip version, open it and than put the folder in the same spot I had the 3.1.1.8. I had to rename the 3.1.2.2 and put in 3.1.1.8 and now it works. So now I guess if I want to have .package files default for S4S I have to keep the files name and put in the new version of the S4S each time it updates.

Oh ok. Sorry I think I just misunderstood what you were asking for. I understand a bit better now. I am glad you figured it out!
