Help - get famous - sims not completing actions

So I recently got get famous and EVERYTHING WAS FINE.  Now suddenly my sims started freezing.  First I tried making sure inventories were clear and other such things so it seemed fixed but I still get to a certain point and they'll start an action and stop just before finishing it.

I've created a new save game.  I started completely fresh.  What can I do?
