Hi, everyone! Before I start, I really want to thank you all for your amazing tutorials. I'm not that great with 3D software, but within just a few days I was finally able to get something to work! Nonetheless, I do have some issues that I'd like to share with you and see if maybe some of you would have an idea as for why I have these problems. I attempted to make this dress today in MD, and I was able to follow the Blender tutorial posted here to finally get this: imgur.com/a/6uKQdRLIn the game, the dress look awesome and textures are pretty high quality, but I know I messed up trying to cover up holes where the body mesh was removed, and that came up as soon as my sim sat down, lol. Here's an example: imgur.com/a/HlEVf3d1) Does anyone have any advice as for how to cover up holes like that without it looking so poopy? haha Lastly, I noticed that this dress, for some reason, doesn't want to work well with my modded hairstyles. It works just fine with base hairstyles, but not with ones I downloaded: imgur.com/a/mLaWZY62) Is this an issue with the dress I created? Maybe some settings I don't know of? EDIT: Here's my blend file: drive.google.com/open?id=16VHoXT6G1MFxThaei9GKvA4w9OE3vYwoHere's my package: drive.google.com/open?id=1brBEX8gpX97ntYbS27Shm2CwXEY3UDAAAny advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! About the dress when sitting, to me it looks fine in terms of weights, if you are talking about the texture issue, you should move the vertex of bottom part up on z axe so it's less flat (you should also re-do the legs mesh since they are not inside the skirt anymore. Then place the uv_0 of this bottom part in the extra space and create a proper texture for it (usually EA's is solid color that fades into black/dark in the center). I've just placed it here as an example. Also consider making the uv_1 right so that it can work with different body shapes [ tutorial]. This is how yours looks like now and it's not compatible with TS4. About the problem with Alpha hair I have no clue, sorry.

Thank you so much, AleNik! Greatly appreciated! I really do need to look at tutorials on how to make this work with other Sim body types. Thank you so much for the advice with regards to the bottom of the dress! I had no idea I would need to separate it like that!

I've just placed it here as an example. May I know how to actually drag that UV part in there? When I select the vertexes, it only highlights the bottom lines on the skirt in the UV viewer panel, and I'm not sure how to make it the way you did. Thank you! :D

Select the bottom part in the 3D view, hit the 7 key so that your visual is located in the z axe (and the first thing you see are the feet, not the head). Now go in the left panel, if it's visible click T (always in the 3D view)> shading/uvs>unwrap>project from view. In the UV tab on the left you should see the bottom part as above, it's usually on top of other uvs but since it's the only one selected you can move it

Before I begin, I really want to say sorry for bothering you guys! I'm still a complete beginner, but I feel like I'm really close to figuring it out. I have a problem with the dress looking all strange in game, which has not happened to me before. I redid the weights and vertex paint, but I think that's not it. Every time I check in vertex tools of the dress, everything seems to be transferring correctly. It seems like I might have deleted some vertexes or something by accident before baking the textures. This was just a test before making actual textures in Photoshop, so I'm glad I haven't done that yet, lol. What I did differently was actually unwrapped the bottom of the dress, like was advised to me, and baked textures for it as well. I also moved the bottom of the dress up along the z axes after scaling so that it wouldn't look weird. However, something here is amiss, hahaha. I want to admit that I tried to redo it twice, and I made the same exact mistakes. Not a clue what's wrong. imgur.com/a/r0eO2CZHere's my blend file! drive.google.com/open?id=1hbC51cKYtiI1qHOSGuYfIaRopEQ0LnJAIf anyone can figure this stuff out, that would be awesome! Thank you!

Hi! Is your last blend a new dress? Can you share the package you cloned?. There's several rigs' copies and bone_shape elements that should be deleted. That is the reason why you can't bake the mesh correctly. If you've cloned an outfit with more than one cut and used that as reference then that's the issue. Clone the lingerie base game and use that as reference. Just fix the categories on the package later. Also, some little adjustments i suggest: 1- Right click this vertice, press G to translate and move it down like so. 2- Edge split the bottom row to fix the shade issue. Go to the UV, press B and select what's orange in the image below. Then hover your mesh with the cursor and press CTRL+E and "edge split".

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but this is actually a dress I made from scratch in Marvelous Designer and then exported to use the .obj in Blender. I used this red dress from EA that looked somewhat similar for uv_1 and then later for weight transfer and vertex paint: drive.google.com/open?id=1Il0owsVJYFwvoehRsnOyhGMaAuoAoyGN. The weird thing is, I followed this tutorial on it sims4studio.com/thread/7044/finish-marvelous-designer-clothing-tutorial before with that same dress, and it worked just fine, but I needed to adjust the bottom of my own dress so that it wouldn't look bulky and try to work with uv_1 to make it compatible with the sliders. Then I started making that weird mistake that you saw in previous screenshot. :( The final package I made that looks all messed up is this one: drive.google.com/open?id=1brBEX8gpX97ntYbS27Shm2CwXEY3UDAAThank you so much! If you could tell me exactly what to delete I would be very grateful! Thank you also for the suggestions above!
