This will hopefully be my last thread for this piece of cc... i've worked out a lot of the problems but for this last thing I haven't found any information on it.
I've been making a dress with sheer sleeves and though they look correctly in s4s, when I load up the game the sleeves look gray, opaque, and dark.
(yes, I am using reshade for that screenshot, though they look dark without it, too, I just forgot to turn it off for the picture. Also, I need to close that seam in the sleeve..)
I know it's a problem with my cc specifically because other sheer clothes I have show up correctly:
Also, once upon a time it *used* to look correctly in the game -- back when I was still trying to get the sleeves to look right, but somewhere along me working on it I did something to make it show up gray and I don't know what. I don't even have the old version of the package to look at since I overwrote it.

I see that on lower lods you didn't change simskin shader to simglass for the sleeves. Try changing the shader for all lower lods. If it doesn't help them clone new .package and re-import your files. Sometimes .packages may break.

I cloned a new dress and and imported my mesh and textures and changed all the sleeves LODs to 'simglass' as well as cleaned out my cache and it still shows up gray. I have updated the simfileshare link with the new package in case anyone wants to look at it.

So I was able to find the first version of the dress where the sleeves did not turn gray (http://www.simfileshare.net/download/999825/)
However, when I tried swapping out the mesh in that package with the new mesh with the nicer sleeves I got the gray problem again in the game, so it's definitely something related to the mesh and not the package settings. I tried messing with the sleeves to find the problem, but I can't find what causes them to go gray.
If anyone would like to take a look at that (the problem mesh is in the link in the first post) I'd be very grateful. Right now I'm just kinda at a loss.

I've compared your old and new packages and it appears you have managed to swap the body and sleeves mesh groups around.
In the working (old) package mesh_3 is the sleeves with cut number 1 and mesh_2 is the body with cut number 2. In the broken (new) package mesh_3 is the body with cut number 2 and mesh_2 is the sleeves with cut number 1.
That's the only real difference I can find between the meshes. I know the cut numbers are the same for the same body parts but I wonder if the groups being different is affecting it?

Thank you for your help, I tried switching back the mesh groups and cut numbers and tested it in game but it still looks gray. Maybe it just has to do with the actual shape of the mesh? is that reasonable?
