I am trying to make a pose where the sim has their feet against one wall and there back against another. problem is i don't know how to judge that in blender. i tried using this 'cube' method i read on here for it, but it didn't seem to work right entirely. the sims was mostly positioned right except the foot went inside the wall. Is there an easier way to do this?

hi! one tile in game is one tile in blender. you can also clone a painting or frame, append that and use as a guide as well.

I just recently created a wall pose pack. I made sure to be in the view that the Num 5 key provides (sorry don't know the proper term), then hit the Num 3 key to show the side view. From there I moved my Sim that's going to be against the wall to the left, away from the blue line that marks the y-axis, by one column. Here's a picture for reference: I made myself think of that first vertical line to the left of the y-axis, the "wall line". And again, when I tested the poses, they worked perfectly. I hope this helps!

Wow! I'm so glad I continued to search! Been looking all over online for a few weeks on help. I wanted to make some animations against walls and I just started using sims 4 studio!! Your ideas were super helpful. I tried doing the cube thing but it was just really confusing .

What would I need to click in order to view the grid like in your sample picture so that I can determine the distance from the blue line?

nicosimmernico The grid shows up in perspective mode (I think that's the name of it anyway), but only when you hit the Num Keys 1, 3, and 7. (There may be more but those are the ones I primarily use.) I hope this helps but if it doesn't, please don't be afraid to ask!

In case you need to know, it's called Orthographic view. It removes perspective from the view.

(I just noticed how old this thread is, so hopefully this is still helpful)
I've made wall animations before, and if you use a door mesh when animating, it works the same way as a wall in the game does. You import the mesh and move the sim rig in front of the door. In the game, the teleport sim goes through the middle of a wall. It works and there isn't any guessing involved.
For the part where the sim has their feet against another wall, you'll want to look at the squares in blender. That gives a good estimate of where the feet should be. I haven't tried this before so I can't help there.

So sorry for the late reply!!! cazmari and menaceman44 thank you both for your advice. I've tried changing views between perspective and orthographic view and there is still no grid unfortunately. I'm not sure what could be the problem with my blender. I can't even upload images or play movie clips in the background for pose referencing but it could just be this version of blender. Not a lot of prominent youtube videos for blender regarding sims 4 so i've been watching a lot of regular animators work through blender (they seem to have more options available to them for some reason that I do not). rosali412 thank you for sharing. In the end I started using doors to make up for no walls or a grid lol. It works just as you had mentioned perfect : )
