When I want to configure the sims 4 path thing, i can only select folders? I cannot click the actual game, just the folder it's in. And when i do click the folder it's in, it's not working?
I can't seem to find any threads with this problem but I'm sorry if this is a stupid question :'3

This is what you need. You don’t need to select .exe. Studio doesn’t need to use .exe files. It needs an access to the sims 4 entire folder to use its resources.

Are you using a Mac? I had problems with this as the path wasn't where the default expects it to be - I think Origin hides it slightly so it doesn't show in your applications folder.
As well as
username >> Applications >> The Sims 4
Try
nameofdrive >> Applications >> The Sims 4
The user files are elsewhere:
username >> Documents >> Electronic Arts >> The Sims 4

So the problem is, when I do this it's not working. I've selected the folder the .exe file is in but then when I go to, for example, a CAS standalone nothing shows up where the clothes are supposed to be :(

But when i try to find it through Sims4studio I can only see the folders and when I click them nothing happens :/

You don't need to be in the folder where TS4.exe is located, you just need to be in the MAIN folder that says "The Sims 4". The files located in Data and Delta contain the clothes, etc., not the .exe.

It just closes :/

Or click and copy the pathway and paste into the settings path. And if that doesn't work, try running the program as Administrator or whatever the alternative is for Mac, then try again. Make sure you are using the right version of S4S.

I'm on PC and the path I use is C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\ You don't need to go any deeper than that.
