Hi! I was wondering if someone could help me. I want to make a skin detail cc I have show up in multiple categories in the Skin Detail section. I see the option to change the main category but not to add extra to all swatches. Any ideas?
Thanks!

You can't add extra categories. Your only option is to clone the CC, change category, and fix the thumbnails, and possibly the RLES2 if I remember that correctly. You should use CAS Tools on MTS instead as it has a perfect clone option now (thumbnails and everything).

So, I tried cloning the cc item with CAS Tools and then changing the category and testing in game but it doesn't show up. Is there another step I might be missing?

If you use CAS Tools you need to ask on their forum. This forum is only about working in Sims 4 Studio.

Last time I was doing cloning experiments the RLE files did not clone with the CC item. The only stuff that cloned was the swatch colors, but I'll take a look again later, it's possible I overlooked something or chose the wrong option. Plus, with the option I chose last time you still had to import every single thumbnail, which in a 20+ item is annoying if you only want to clone for category use.

So, I tried cloning the cc item with CAS Tools and then changing the category and testing in game but it doesn't show up. Is there another step I might be missing? Make sure the package isn't a merged package, and make sure you hit the "Commit Changes" button before saving, and it could also be the category you selected. You can always clone with CAS Tools to get a new package, then open it in S4S and make the change to the category there if the CAST program is too confusing. That might be the best option honestly.

Thank you! I will try again. It might actually be a merged package and I didn't realize, I think that must be the issue. I'll try again when I have more time but first unmerging the original and then cloning.

MizoreYukii For a while now, Studio works in such a way that it only imports to the .package the resources that you changed and need. This behaviour happens either by cloning an EA item or a CC item. This is because in case you don't change the specular, bump map, or other textures in a recolor for instance, the package doesn't need to have repeated images inside, so the game ones are referenced instead (no new instances created). This is default behaviour, however, I understand that when cloning a CC item you SHOULD include those files inside your own, because it wouldn't be practical to depend on different packages to call the images. It's for that reason a tool is included to pull into the active package all the referenced resources for you. You can find it in TOOLS/MODDING/Embed all externally referenced resources (CAS). There's no need to use CAS tools for this project, and advice regarding it is not supported in this forum.

I know this post is a few months old, but I thought I'd chime in anyways.
I've noticed that simply making a copy of a package won't work, you have to make a new one. I've found the easiest way to do what you're after is to take the skin detail you're looking to have in multiple categories, put it in your s4s>mods folder, then when you go into s4s choose "create CAS standalone" and go to the "content" section and switch to "custom". From there, shift+click the file you want and press next to make a new package with all the same info. Then once you do that, you can change the category. Doing it this way will mean that you have to keep that original file in the game or the new ones won't work, but I think that's what you want anyways.
