I really want to override the default earbuds in the Fitness Stuff Pack to these CAS [BLACK] AIRPODS. I know it's possible because mystericsims was able to do it here, but she did not share with the community. I'm new to modding so I'm just trying to figure out which thread is the proper one to read. Is it tuning, recolor? I really don't know but willing to share if I could just figure it out. If anyone has tips that'd be great. I'm trying to do my research but having some issues.

You can do it in 2 ways. One way is tuning, one is with CAS. Easiest depends your experience and what you are comfortable with, and would probably be the CAS one, but if you plan to release it to the public then CAS is not the way to go. If you do it with tuning it only references the file, so people will still need to download the airpods for your mod to work. CAS:Select "Override" under CAS in S4S, locate the earbuds (use your filters, you can type in "e" as well to narrow the list further), (maybe) select all the colors (there is also a kids version), and then you import everything from Black's airpods to the earbuds file and replace it, save (you may need to go to "Tools > Modding > Embed all externally referenced resources" for the rest of the resources). Black's airpods only has 1 color, so you can either recolor to match the previous swatches or just replace them all with the only color available so that other sims use the same airpods. I think you can get away with deleting the other swatches but I'm not 100% sure if that will work. Tuning:All you have to do is locate the files the earbuds are called in and replace the CAS ID it references. The file names go "buff_Object_EarBuds_Hidden_EarBuds_Color_Black" or "buff_Object_EarBuds_Hidden_EarBuds_Color_Blue" etc. There are a total of 9 files. You'd get to these files by opening S4S, going to "Tools > Create Empty Package", then go back to "Tools > Extract Tuning..." and then copy/paste the name I listed above, excluding Black or Blue, and then all 9 files will appear. Select all 9 and then "Add to current package" and the program will add them. Then it's just a matter of going through each file and replacing the ID to the airpods. You will need to open the airpods file and go to warehouse, copy the CAS Part instance, or you can find it by adding it to your S4S Mods folder as if you were going to recolor, then hover over the icon and a popup will list the instance (shown below). You take that Instance, open Hash Generator by going to Tools again, paste where it says Hexadecimal under Convert Number, copy the decimal and you now have the CAS ID (shown below too)! Thankfully I downloaded the file you wanted to look at it and already converted the number, so it's CAS ID is 12523022136138103793. Now, in the 9 files you added to your package there is this code below: <V n="appearance_modifier" t="enabled"> <U n="enabled"> <L n="appearance_modifiers"> <L> <U> <V n="modifier" t="set_cas_part"> <U n="set_cas_part"> <T n="cas_part">172069</T> </U> </V> </U> </L> </L> </U> </V> Where it says "<T n="cas_part">172069</T>" you want to replace the number inside the arrows with the airpods CAS ID I gave you above, like this: <T n="cas_part">12523022136138103793</T>. Do this for each file, and do not delete or touch anything else. Then save, and you are done.
