Let's say, a katana in a sheath. I've seen some pictures from The Sims 3 of the aforementioned object. But I have always wondered how they are made. Are they made out of a lot of polygons or not? Or is there any sculpting involved? Any answer is appreciated since I might have a go at making one. Thank you.

Hi. I'm pretty certain you can find an existing mesh for free. If you can think of a game where any character had it, google Character_name download 3d model. If you have The Sims 3 and want to use that model, export the mesh from there. If not, just google katana download 3d model or something like this. Basically what you need is any tutorial on accessory making or conversion, just skip the modeling part. The only thing is that you will need to clone a bottom (nude or something made from one meshgroup), transfer weights from it and then change categories to an accessory of your choice

How big should the katana be?

It can be of any size, you can just scale it down. If my memory serves me well, the sim's body is around 1,93 mm in real world size.

How do I change the position the katana is in since I want it to be between the sim's right arm and hip. Also, when I import the katana mesh into Sims4Studio as a ring, it doesn't appear, how could I fix that.
