Ok so I’m really new to PS so please bare with me. I’ll try and describe as best I can. I’m trying to recolour a door from IL using the WMS Sandwich palettes. I’m using the WMS actions too which is making it a lot easier. Trouble is, when I apply the actions it recolours the whole thing - including the clear part of the midge (the glass panel of the door).
what steps can I take to allow me to run these actions while keeping the pane section untouched?

There's a few ways to do this. I'm going in blind here as I am not sure which door you mean but duplicate your door texture so that you have two layers with the same exact textures. Recolor your top layer then using either the eraser brush to erase the parts you want back to the original color on the top layer or you could select those parts you don't want colored and promote them to their own layer and just recolor the bottom layer in that instance. There is also masking which you'll have to find a tutorial for but that is also an option.

ALso if its just a simple rectangular shape you could use rectangular marquee tool, select the area, inverse the selection and while you still have the "marching ants" run your action. That will play the action on the selected area only.

It’s the sliding glass doors from Island Living - the erase tool strips back the colour from the glass (which I don’t know how to add back) so hopefully inverting will work. Thankfully it’s just a rectangular section.

Alright, so looking at the texture I see a few ways you can recolor this without coloring the glass. I liked it much better when they gave glass it's own texture space :( I have attached a PSD where the glass has it's own layer so it will be easier for you to recolor it in the future. Just make sure you don't merge the layers when you save it. Always recolor layer one and when you save make sure you always "save as" so you don't over write the original file. Hope this helps. Here ya go!
