Hi everyone... I am really new at creating content and so far I've had lots of luck as I am very familiar with photoshop. But I've run into serious problems with managing normal maps for CAS items that I am creating. I know how to get the normal in photoshop but i am unfamiliar with how to get it to a stage where i can load it and look good. Placement aside, I am having problems with the "gray" and how to convert the normal that photoshop produces into the file that is ready for S4S.
Can anyone please help?! I have been working on the same files for 3 days and I can't figure it out.
Much thanks in advance

Make sure you export as .DDS to preserve the alpha channel. If you can't export as .DDS you need to download the photoshop plugin (goes in photoshop/plug-in/file formats/).

I thought it may have something to do with that but I wasn't sure... I did have some luck playing with the transparency in png format but i will try this out to see if my workflow improves!

Let me know if it works! Personally, making ts4 normal maps in .png never worked for me, they only worked when I exported them as .dds.

I haven't tried exporting in .dds as of yet but playing with the transparency of the actual .png definitely worked. Ill try the export, it may help with the work flow.
