Help! I've been trying to create a new vampire eye color, but I just can't seem to get it to work! This is my first attempt at making anything, really. I've followed a couple of tutorials and I think I've replicated the steps appropriately. I first launched S4S (version 3.1.33). I selected 'Add CAS Part Swatch', picked eye color, set the game pack to 'Vampires', and picked out one the eye colors (the red/black one). I edit the diffuse and emissive texture files to my liking, then import them into their respective locations in the Textures tab of the studio.
In the studio preview window in S4S, my diffuse texture looks just the way I want it to! Hooray!
But in character creation, when I select the new swatch, it's still the old red/black texture from the game, and not the new texture I created. Sad face.
For technical reference, I'm using Sims 4 Studio version 3.1.33. GIMP is version 2.10.18.
When I open the exported .dds files, I choose NOT to load the mipmaps (maybe this is wrong?)
When I export the edited image file, I make sure there's only one visible layer, I use BC3/DXT5 compression, and I have it set to generate mipmaps. Picture for reference:
Things I've tried:
This is day two of me beating my head against this, so if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm including a link to my dropbox if anyone wants to poke at the package/texture files at all.

Things I've tried:
- Directly editing the exported diffuse/emission texture files from S4S, exporting the altered images as .dds files, and re-importing them.
- Creating a new file from scratch, copying only the visible layer from the exported diffuse texture for reference, then importing the new .dds files back into S4S etc.
- Opening up the exported diffuse/emission texture files and ticking the 'load mipmaps' box, then deleting those mipmap layers and editing the file, then having GIMP generate new mipmaps when I export per usual.
- Clicking 'Make Blank' for the specular texture in S4S. (normal and shadow are already blank, I guess?)
- Saving the diffuse texture as a .png instead of a .dds, because why not.
- Lots of cursing.
