Hello everyone, you always have such great ideas and I'm standing mightily on the tube.
Pepperoni Puffin gave the pack "build-a-bus" and I got the permission to change the color of the .packages, to edit the mesh and to integrate the mesh into a .package by myself.
The background is: I want to recreate the Harry Potter Knight Bus.
The coloring has taken place, the size has been changed. So far without problems.
The bus consists of several parts: the roof, the front, the tires and the wallpaper, otherwise it consists of normal rooms.
Now I want to add lighting to the roof and the front.
The roof has several red "lights" on the sides, front and rear, but so far only via the texture as red lights but without really a light behind it.
I have now tried different things.
- I redesigned the texture, removed the red areas and added the texture for slightly reddish glass.
- Then I worked on the roof in Blender via Vertex Paint, so that only the areas of the lights appear white, the rest of the roof, on the other hand, black (I first wanted it to light up at all, later I can add a gradient)
- In Sims4Studio I cloned a lamp, adjusted my mesh to the mesh of the lamp so that I could import it and also imported the textures.
- in Sims4Studio I went into Lights and changed the light to red.
Then I saved and looked at the whole thing in the game. The texture of the roof had strange shadows, nothing lit from the intended areas, there was only a small red light in the middle of the roof, which was not visible when it was on the bus.
1.) I opened Blender again and went to the rig, changed the position of the FX there, copied this point several times and moved it to the desired places and checked whether it was lit. No it does not.
2.) I deleted all these FX (except for the actual ones), inserted several FX in the Sims4Studio and checked if it was lit. No it does not.
3.)
I tried it by inserting several lights in the corresponding positions in the Lights Resource. Doesn't help either.
4.)
In addition, I tried by inserting the TuningID of the pool wall lamp, because the lamps should shine to the side or to the front but also with it - 0 success.
Therefore my question:
Starting from a normal object where the Vertex Paint has already been done correctly, which steps would be necessary for me?
Do I already have to prepare something in blender, do I have to do something different in Lights, do I have to change something in Rig / Slots?
Is it even possible to attach multiple light sources to an object or would I have to dodge candle flames? But even there, I am currently on the tube and yes I have already created candles and know the tutorial how to remove candle flames and / or change their position, I also know the tutorial for Vertex Paint so that the correct areas light up.

I don't know what to do anymore, that was all the ideas that I could discover through the tutorials and that came to my mind. Oh yes, I also had it in between with shadows as 0, lights as 1 and object as 2 in Blender, i.e. not everything just as a layer and then uploaded this to a corresponding other object and made all the settings there. Also without success. I just do not know how to go on.
What am I missing?
Thank you very very much, this one is driving me crazy
Now I'm trying to run the whole thing as candles and try to put candlelight in the different areas ... maybe I'll get the red lighting over it. Although I would like the front lighting of the bus (other part) with the right lamps to generate more brightness
