Hey! I've decided to seperate the box-spring from Eco's dumpster bed. I have the meshes, textures, and normal maps all sorted out and I'm almost finished. I'm wondering, though, what the best way to set up the object definition/object catalog/footprint is. I want it to function well with any bedding cc
I know that University messed up some cc beds, because the separated frame would count as an extra bed? How do I avoid it counting as a bed, but still have it show up in the catalog as a bed?
Second question is about the footprint. I read somewhere that someone was giving their beds a rug footprint so it was place-able without MOO. I'm not entirely sure how to do that, and also I don't want sims to be able to walk through it. I've used cc where they deleted the footprint entirely but that was actually a bit annoying while I was building.
Guidance is appreciated! For the most part I know what I'm doing, I just wanna make sure I get these details right!

You could clone a rug, import the bed frame mesh and texture, then switch the object category to bed. Then clone a bed, and import the bedding mesh and textures.
Make sure to pay close attention to meshgroups/cuts, and if there are any extra ones just make a single tri or cube or something and hide it within the mesh (if you have an empty meshgroup it won't import).
