Alright alright before I'm lynched hear me out.
I have been looking at devilicious's curtains and I want to tweak the meshes as some of the curtains don't work on the windows like they should or they are super limited in their height design.
Problem - I have tried to find a profile or a left behind TOU for them and can not seem to find anything. TSR profile is blank, any posting with their CC is from fans of it (often trying to track down pieces)
Logic tells me that I can do so - making sure its known credit for the original mesh design goes to them. But I don't want to be disrespectful as I know mesh altering and such is a fine like to walk with in the modding community.
So advice??
And if someones googlefu is better then mine at getting me the TOU they may have had in place I would be grateful.

In case if the creator left the community and you can not find their TOU it is respectful not to use their meshes and textures. While .package format belongs to EA textures and meshes belong to the creator.

I've the same problem. I've recolored a tea set originally done by blackcatphoenix.tumblr.com and he (object identifier in S4S was Kyle) has apparently been missing in action since 2017. I'd love to be able to show him what I've done in the hopes he'd then either allow me to share the recolor/retexture or do so himself. As it is, I don't want to get in trouble, so the world will never see it :(
and sidenote, I don't care that it would require 10,000 polygons and a 4k x 4k texture, if anyone's got the talent and skill to reproduce this, that'd be great:

While .package format belongs to EA textures and meshes belong to the creator. Personal opinion here, I think there should be a statute of limitations on that. If a creator's been dead five years, it's not like their estate was profiting millions off the guy's mesh, so death + 50 years, which is the ordinary copyright, probably isn't something necessary for a sims4 mesh.
If no one can get hold of me for anything I've done three years from now, haven't seen hide nor hair of me, and I've maintained zero, GO FOR IT.
