I created a brand new mesh of clothing (actually someone else made it but it's open source for all). I choose a "clothing body" swimsuit in Sims4Studio as my base to edit in Blender and it's mostly a blank slate mannequin. Then I appended the clothing set into my project as a 2nd collection. The clothing was not proportional (as you can see) and I have scaled and made slight movements to match it to the Sims mannequin as best I could, but I still see an awful lot of clipping. My question is, can I just delete the mannequin body parts I don't need and it will still align well when I import it back into Sims4Studio? Or do I have to alter my appended mesh (do more scaling, moving, and maybe even some mesh vertices pushes and pulls) to "fit over" the mannequin perfectly? For instance the feet are flat on the mannequin, but the outfit I appended has boots on with a heel. So the appended boots will never fit over the mannequin perfectly. I figure it it's OK to get it "close enough", then I can delete the parts of the mannequin I don't need, that the appended clothing is supposed to cover, and then it will be OK to import back into Sims4Studio. Is this correct? imgur.com/a/LcdaLQ1

Hi. All parts of the body the garment covers should be deleted, however, do not delete body parts under rig. You can hide them in blender. They will be present in s4s, but pay no mind to it. You should clone an item that comes with shoes and is tuned to hide feet. You could hide them manually, but you should not import an item affected by foot and toe bones into an item that is not affected by them. This will cause distortions either for you or people using your cc. As I understand, the arm position if the garment does not match with the arm osition of the rig, you should fix it by adjusting the mesh.
It is not "ok" to import the item in s4s until you make it functional, so that is what you should do first after adjusting the overall shape.

Ah great, thanks so much for the speedy response! I only have weekends to work on these, lol. Nice, I will have to find a full body clothing model that wears boots then. Currently I have been trying to use the mannequin to adjust the clothing to. So yeah, I will def adjust those sleeves to be up on the level of the posed arms. Then after I get a full coverage, I'll delete the mannequin underneath. I'm not sure what you mean by don't delete body parts under "rig", like body parts that are indented under rig? For instance this swimsuit model I got has some things under rig but the majority of the visible body is in s4studio_mesh 1,2,3. imgur.com/rzhl4Wu

I can't check right now what it is called, but theres this brown full body outfit with a belly button piercing, top + leggins + boots, something halloween related.
Yes, those body parts are parented under rig, they are not imported into s4s studio but altering them can cause problems. You should change only s4studio_mesh
