Are recolouring some base game tiles with slate flooring. Found a tutorial for how to make shiny. But have no idea for the bump map. I can do clothing etc bump maps.
My texture is 512x512.
Is that the size you make the bump map? Do you resize it? Is it a grey back ground then make map? Then do the same as clothing? Add alpha channel. Copy red channel to alpha. Etc Save as dds???

I do this for floor bump maps. This is for a floor with the SAME pattern just different colour swatches. Check the size of the original, usually (512x512). take my texture into photoshop and convert to Black and white, I choose the option that leaves a lot of detail. Then I get close so I can see the whole pattern and use the emboss tool, getting close means I can see which parts I want to appear raised. I always flatten the image not sure I have too just do then I save as a ds5 I think, the usual bump/spec dds. Upload into S4S. Works for me.
