I've been working on a sketchbook mod that uses tuning very similar to that of the journal from parenthood. However, whenever I try and attach the custom tuning to the object, the sim does not recognize a writing surface even if they do with the regular writing journal. I thought it was my code at first, but after some testing it seems that changing the filename and tuning number (and nothing else) causes the sim not to recognize a suitable drawing area. Unfortunately, I can't find any related xml files that might help solve this issue. I've combed through all the files that use the old tuning number for the specific action (160098) but none specify what object action routes can be set, only what happens upon routing failure. What would be the best way to go about fixing this? (I promise this is the last issue haha)

Unfortunately I had no luck with Zero's tutorial, as the sims continue not to be able to route--I tried putting the constraints at the top as zero had, with several possible animations. :( However, what the commenter mentioned underneath about custom constraints might work. So far in the base file, it has constraints that mention posture, but not animation. I'm very new to modding and am unsure of what the best custom constraint for making a sim sit at a desk and write would be. I appreciate all your help so far. Edit: I did it! For future people who may have trouble with constraints, my full constraints looked like this: <L n="_constraints"> <U> <L n="constraints"> <U> <V n="value" t="posture"> <U n="posture"> <L n="posture_manifest_tuning"> <U> <V n="surface" t="actor"> <E n="actor">BASE_OBJECT</E> </V> </U> </L> </U> </V> </U> </L> <L n="constraints"> <U> <V n="value" t="animation"> <U n="animation"> <U n="animation_ref"> <T n="factory">11477<!--Do_Teen_Homework_Start_Surface--></T> </U> </U> </V> </U> </L> </U> </L>
