Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I wanted to ask you a question. Is it possible to create accessories for the sims 4 without necessarily having to use a uv map that can be superimposed on the sim skin? maybe through sims4 studio or sims4castool or maybe through some mod. I don't really like the idea of always having to resize textures to respect the limits of the default map. I would like to be able to create accessories as happened with the sims 2, or simply create the texture through milkshape and not worry about having to insert it in the classic 1024x2048 or 2048x4096 map.

Well, TS2 has the option of using multiple textures that are completely separate from each other, and accessory textures don't overlay the skin textures unless you force them to (there's one setting that uses the skin texture, and one that completely ignores it - for use with alphas, transparency, or when you can't easily remap something to work with skin). In TS4 I don't think there's an option to do the same (you can do transparency, but it still has to be mapped away from the skin). So I think you're kind of stuck mapping accessories in different parts of the skin area, and hoping it doesn't overlay something else. Not sure there's a setting that makes the texture not overlay other items that are mapped in the same area (in which case I'd like to know, because it would make layering accessories a whole lot easier).
You'll have to use the regular sizes, because that's how textures work in TS4. Other dimentions than 1024x2048 or 2048x4096 and the textures won't show up on the skins.

Maybe! in my opinion this is a flaw of the sims 4. without this thing i could make accessories with higher quality textures without worrying about taking up space

You'll have to take it up with EA...
I find it bothersome, too. I hate those tiny textures - I much prefer accessory making in TS2 where you can use the full potential of the UVmap (and almost any size you like as long as it follows the "power of 2" rule - 2/4/8...512/1024/...). TS3 accessories can also use the full UVmap (with the same size rule). So it's purely a TS4 issue.

Hi. Ts4 developers had to make sacrifices to improve perfomance, so this is why we are stuck with this "one uv space for all cas cc" thing. There is no way of avoiding it for this is how the game is programmed. To prevent accessories from displaying skin texture, you need to put the uvs in the space meant for accessories, not body parts. That is all you can do in this case

it's really a shame anyway. unfortunately I am not an expert in mods, but I am convinced that there is the possibility by creating a new mod to modify the parameters of the game so that even the accessories can use the textures exactly like non-cas objects.

To this day we cannot enable the same transparency or double-sided shading for CAS items as objects, cannot properly decode certain image formats used for skin and makeup, cannot make fenses or stairs without jumping over hoops, cannot make functional cars or standalone words, and so on. This game was intentionally coded in a way that it would be hard, if not impossible, to modify it freely. The developers have not answered a single question regarding coding in years. If modders could execute all of their ideas, people would not be willing to buy EA's half-assed expantion packs. So, my point is, even if there were people proficient enough in coding to completely change how CAS items function, they would not bother doing it when there are more pressing matters to be solved.

It's been 6 years since the game came out. If there was a way to do this we would have this option by this time.

Interestingly, in CAS part resources there's a unique texture space option - However, I've never seen anything use it, so I'm guessing it's something left over from the sims 3 engine that isn't used anymore. If you need more accessory space, I recommend using HQ textures, or using the hat UV space (although obviously it won't be compatible with any hats).

I had never noticed that option and have never heard of it. who knows cisa needs. it seems strange to me that it has to do with the sims 3 because it used another creation program
