Hi,
I am just starting off in making CC and I am focusing on rings at the moment. More specifically engagement rings.
I have run into some trouble with texturing. I am comfortable with using Gimp to add texture after exporting the UV. However my issue is finding the right size diamond and gold texture to add to my rings. They are all too big and once I scale them to the size I need which is about 50X50 pixels the quality becomes blurry and I cannot use it for my ring.
Does anyone have any Diamond and Gold/Silver suitable textures please?
p.s I’m also open to using different colours for the diamonds (red, pink, blue etc)
Thank you

You could paint your own texture using a real one as guide, it's tricky but when viewed close to diamond textures are just black, white and grey shapes. If you could copy the pattern on a very small texture then sharpen the image and maybe even play with the shadows tool it may work.

Hi. You can try to take most of the available uv space for rings with the uv island of the diamond. Otherwise there is nothing you can do to improve the quality because the uv island is too small
