Hello, I apologize if this has already been asked, I searched through and couldn't find any answers. I am trying to make a normal map but it keeps giving my shirt a shiny green look to it in-game. I keep seeing answers about making png normal maps with layer masks but can't find any actual tutorial to explain how to accomplish that. If anyone could link me to one or otherwise explain how I am supposed to make a png normal map, I would very much appreciate it. Otherwise, I will continue to try to save as a .dds. I followed SLYD's tutorial step by step but the normal map seems darker grey than it should be, and is still showing up as shiny green in the game. I have downloaded Nvidia Texture Tools and have been saving with BC3 format. Any other settings I need to change in Nvidia? Thank you in advance for any help you can supply

Hi, have you seen this explanation from Mauvemorn? I haven't seen any other mention of making normal maps from .png; it was a surprise to me that it can be done. Are you using the new Nvidia tool? I tried to use that one recently but it didn't work for normal maps because it saves the alpha as plain white. I wonder if that is what's happening to you. You could try the Intel Texture Works tool.
