Very newbie question, but I couldn't find a definite answer for this.. I managed to create a 5-level career with a working custom reward trait in Mod constructor (yay!) but I don't know how to look at the XML from it. And therefore can't do any edits to it in XML (and I'd like to, because there's some stuff the constructor can't do or I don't know how to do with it). I'd also like to look at some existing custom traits by other creators to see how they did something but I don't know how to get to them. I'm sure this is like such an idiot question but I just couldn't find an answer! :D I know how to extract "game code" xml with s4s but does it work for .package files? Also can the script files be opened with s4s? Wondering if it's just python code packaged somehow or what in the world.. :0

Yes, S4S can open and make .packages, but it can't open .ts4scripts though because they are just renamed .zips that contain scripts. You can open .packages either by associating S4S with .package files (right-click and choose Open With, find S4S) and then opening them like any other file by double-clicking, or you can choose "My Projects" on the right of the main menu of S4S and open .packages that way. If you're going to be modding a lot though I recommend the first.

Thank you so much MizoreYukii! This is so strange trying to get into modding because I feel like I have to do a lot of backengineering for even the most basic things, like not knowing what the file types are and what I can use to open them..
And that the ts4script files are just renamed zips! What :D The fact that I could just rename and unzip them and take a look in any code editor.. suddenly feels just crazy. Thank you for sharing this! (I'll probably start a new topic about the .pyc files at some point.. :D)

Another newbie here and I was hoping it would be alright to piggy back off of your thread, fetaplop. You said you know how to extract game code files, and I'm trying to figure out how to do that. I've been searching the internet and this forum and I found another person asking the same question as me in 2019 with no answer, and your thread. Any chance you could share those instructions with me?
I'm following a tutorial on how to create a custom Holiday Tradition and I'm at the step where it says to "search the extracted games files for the Interactions you want," but unlike the other steps, it has failed to mention how to find the extracted game files and search through them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
