Well, in this particular cause, it's because there really isn't a mesh.
I don't know much about the SugarSync filehost that OBP used for all their stuff, but I've seen it discussed in WCIF threads on multiple sites over the last 6+ months that there's something wrong with it -- a large number of OBP's downloads on that site seem to be okay at first glance, but when you take a closer look, some of the files inside the zips have file sizes of 0KB, i.e. they are completely empty files, just a name with no data at all. When I saw the mesh creator's name, I went and downloaded the file and checked it, and while the zip itself isn't 0kb because one of the image files is still good, every other file in the zip, including the package file, is 0kb. You should be able to see this if you look at the size of the files you downloaded.
That's not a problem with the content, it's a problem with the filehost, and I've only ever seen it happen with this one filehost, which I've never seen any other creators use besides this one.
I occasionally run into very old content that cannot be batchfixed into working, but it's pretty rare, and it doesn't usually cause that severe a problem either.

"OBP Axent Headphones Recolors.package" can be found on chomikuj_pl/kacper.pyszczek/sims+4Mods,9 (replace _ with . - not sure about the rating of this domain).

Out of curiosity, I did some digging and found a reddit thread where people were discussing SugarSync and apparently this filehost corrupting old files and making them empty is a reoccuring problem.

Oh, it's weird. I had to remove it from my mods cause my game wouldn't even launch.
