Hi! I'm still pretty new to using S4S, so please bear with me ^^; I'm using 3.1.4.5 (Wishes)
I just had a question about swatches. Maybe a couple of questions. We'll see how this goes.
So basically, to try and summarize what I'm doing (because I tend to ramble and don't want to lose my main point): I've been reorganizing/removing swatches from various CC I've downloaded, and I'm dying to know if there's a better way to do it than the way I've been doing it.
Right now, specifically, I'm taking some skin detail .packages and removing all the swatches that aren't overlays (for example, eye bags that have 60 opaque swatches with various skin colors and 2 swatches that are just colorless overlays). Since the skin tone update happened and because I don't really use non-overlay skins, all the extra swatches just annoy me because I never use them.
Most of the time, the overlay details are at the bottom of the swatch list. So, either I move 'em to the top (I mostly do this when I have a preferred swatch on something that isn't skin details), or I delete all the extras.
I've noticed I can only move one swatch at a time. It's okay when there's only a couple I want to move, but it can get tedious when there's 16 at the bottom that I want to move to the top. (For example, this happens a lot with eyelids where there's like 4 different styles of eyelid with multiple swatches of each with different opacities)
Similarly, I've noticed I can only delete one swatch at a time, and when I do, the last swatch on the list is the next one to be selected/highlighted. (I hope that makes sense. I can elaborate further if need be.) My issue here is, again using skin details as an example, the swatches I want to keep are the last ones on the list. So to delete swatches quickly, I need to move all the ones I want to keep up to the top so I can click through the rest without deleting them accidentally.
I do have some experience poking around programs to find solutions/efficient ways to do things, but so far I haven't had any luck. My gut tells me I ought to be able to highlight things I want to move/delete in bulk using Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click (which I can, I assume the highlighting is intended to change categories/flags for groups of swatches in the package?) and then delete them all or move them all at once (which I cannot). I'm just wondering if there's something I'm missing that would let me do this, since I haven't been able to find it, or if its a suggestion I could give to whoever maintains/updates S4S.
TL;DR, is there a way to move/delete multiple swatches at once?
(or a shortcut, or any way to organize swatches besides drag and drop?)
(also, is there a way to upload a custom catalog thumbnail to all the swatches at once? I love doing things en masse.)
Thanks for your time! While perusing the forum looking for answers I couldn't help but notice the care and all the time and energy you guys put into helping people on here. It's appreciated <3
