Converted earring mesh to facial piercing, texture issues

Hello! I'm pretty new to modding in general, but I've managed to make a few functioning CAS parts. However, I'm having issues with the textures. I turned the basegame large hoop mesh into two septum piercings with different shapes. I'm currently using the exported texture from the earrings. I haven't modified the placement, so if I use earrings with the piercing, the earrings get covered with the piercing texture. I've tried to mess with the UV maps in Blender, but I can't really figure it out, even though I've looked up tutorials. I'm not sure exactly how to work the unwrapping stuff and where to put it on the texture map, if that makes sense. Sorry if this is a common question or a common sense solution, I'm just new to it all. I checked the common problems page and didn't see this question. I will also confess that I'm not all that familiar with blender terminology, so I apologize if I got anything wrong. 

(Btw, I know the second mesh is super ugly, but it looks okay in game, and that's what matters to me 😂)
