Hey guy I hope you can help me. I wanted to build a car dealership "retail store" for my sims and downloaded some car cc. The problem is that i cant mark them as sellable when I click on them. There must be an option the make them sellable right?
Im also super new with sims 4 studio and might need a litte more in depth instructions :/
Hope someone has an idea!
Thanks in advance

Well, shoot. It's so frustrating when you post a question and no one answers, isn't it? For what it's worth, I'll see what I can do. At the very least, maybe I can point you in the right direction. Usually, you need to clone something similar to the item you're looking to make as the cloned item will have all of the elements (or at least most of them) that you need for your custom content. For what you're looking to do, however, I don't think cloning a similar item is enough. I think you will need to look into doing some XML tuning. I've not done any XML tuning myself (most of my experience is with making objects) but maybe I can provide some links to look at. You might be able to glean some information from the threads here, here, and here. There are tuning tutorials in the tutorial section. Here are the tuning descriptions from patch 1.73.48; I can't find a later version. Looks like you might need this to read the TDESC files in the zip file. Sounds complicated? Yeah. I suspect it is.

Pretty sure that's making it enormously more complicated than it needs to be.

Pretty sure that's making it enormously more complicated than it needs to be. It wouldn't be a tuning situation? Seems to me that it would be, at least to change the in-game text associated with the item. Okay, so I may have been way off track here, Nuboline (no surprise there). After doing some reading, it appears that some things in the game can be sold, and some not. For the cars, I'm wondering if what the creator cloned is the issue. Perhaps you could try cloning an item that can be sold in a store and import the meshes and textures from the car you downloaded. Or, maybe you could change the tuning of the car. There's a pretty simple tutorial for that here. Pretty much all you're doing in that tutorial is cloning an item that has the in-game behavior you want and copy-pasting the tuning and tuning ID from the cloned package to your package. Hopefully, that will work. If not, I'm out of ideas.

For a purely decorative object, odds are one can just change the tuning name and id instead of making custom tuning or cloning a different base object.
